Student Health Information

Current and admitted students should note the following information to ensure they meet immunization requirements and are covered by appropriate health insurance. 

Stay healthy and up-to-date with your immunizations and insurance using the information provided. Some majors at D'Youville require additional steps, as defined by their programs and departments. Consult your department to ensure you meet all of the expected requirements.

Immunization Requirements

New York State requires students meet certain immunization requirements. In addition to those requirements, healthcare majors may have additional requirements. 

Tuberculosis Screening for Healthcare Majors

Tuberculosis screening and an updated physical is required every year for all healthcare majors. Students in the following programs should verify with their program's clinical coordinator as additional vaccinations may be required:

  • Physician Assistant
  • Pharmacy
  • Chiropractic
  • Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Nursing
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy

    Health Insurance

    D'Youville mandates that all international students must be covered by D'Youville's health insurance. International students are billed directly by the institution for this insurance and enrollment in the insurance is managed through Haylor, Freyer & Coon Inc.

    MEDICAL INSURANCE

    D’Youville has mandated health insurance for students that fall under certain criteria.  If you have insurance, go to the website link listed below and provide proof of adequate coverage in order to waive. If you do not have insurance coverage, you will be required to enroll and the cost will be added to your tuition bill.  If you do not fall under the criteria but wish to enroll you can go onto the website and select voluntary enrollment.  To enroll or waive, please visit https://www.haylor.com/college/dyouville-college/.

    DENTAL INSURANCE

    D'Youville has developed a relationship with Haylor Freyer & Coon, Inc. that provides a dental plan option through their partnership with insurance provider Guardian.

    The dental insurance option is available to any member of the D community. To enroll yourself or your family members, click the button below and provide your information. There are 3 plans to select from and you can pay online with your credit card. Dental insurance is a voluntary option for those interested.
