Genesee Community College (SUNY) issued the following news release:

DYC Professor to Deliver Encore Civil War Lecture

Medina, New York – October 31, 2012 – Genesee Community College is pleased to offer an encore presentation of "The Longstreet Family in War and Peace" by D'Youville College Professor Terrianne Schulte.

Dr. Schulte first led a discussion on one of the most well-known families from the Civil War-era back in May at the Batavia Campus. She will re-visit her riveting lecture about this interesting family, and in particular Confederate General James Longstreet, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Medina Campus Center.

"Professor Schulte is such an engaging speaker, we are absolutely delighted that she agreed to speak again," said GCC history instructor Derek Maxfield, who also coordinates the college's vast and ongoing Civil War initiatives. "She will offer some interesting and perhaps not-very-known information about this family, including the fact that Mrs. Longstreet was a feminist pioneer in the environmental movement."

Dr. Schulte's lecture is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 p.m. at the Medina Campus Center, 11470 Maple Ridge Road, Medina, NY 14411.
