D’Youville Names Dean of School of Health Professions

Buffalo, New York – April 30, 2012 – D'Youville College has named Anthony J. Billittier IV, M.D., Dean of the School of Health Professions effective May 1, 2012.

He will serve as the chief academic officer for undergraduate and graduate programs and have responsibility for course quality, new program and curriculum development, budget, developing collaborative relationships and coordinating external accreditation activities.

Dr. Billittier served as Erie County Commissioner of Health from 2000 to 2012 and as an emergency physician at the Erie County Medical Center since 1991. He will continue in that position on a part time basis.

"D'Youville is indeed fortunate to have a gentleman of Dr. Billittier's capabilities and talents on staff. I know his leadership and professional contributions to the School of Health Professions will benefit our students immensely," said Sister Denise A. Roche, president of D'Youville.

A graduate of the State University College at Geneseo, he earned his medical degree at the State University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Science where he currently is an associate professor. He completed a residency in emergency medicine and a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services & Pre-hospital Care at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

He and his family reside in Lancaster, N.Y.
