At Undergraduate Orientation, we'll make sure you're ready for a great education and a new stage in your life. Whether you're just starting out or changing schools, we provide the resources necessary for a successful transition - not just for students, but for families as well.

First Time in College Students

You're a Saint now and you'll find a whole family of fellow Saints to help you along the way.

At Undergraduate Orientation, we'll make sure you're ready for a great education and a new stage in your life. You'll also get to know your classmates through our Saints on the Lawn, Battle of the Floors at Dobson Field, community service, and many other activities during your three days of Orientation!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND DO
  • Meet with faculty and staff, bond with fellow students and alumni, and learn more about D'Youville and our home in Buffalo's West Side neighborhood.
  • Learn what it means to be a part of the D'Youville community from current students and alumni.
  • Get an introduction to the technology and resources here to ensure you are successful.
  • Ask questions and get helpful answers.
  • Learn about college academics and set goals for your future.

Summer Engagement

    Meet other members of the incoming Class of 2024! During this event, our new Saints will have the opportunity to visit Marguerite Hall, where our new students live, and pick up their new D'Youville IDs!

    Join our Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator for a virtual conversation about life on campus and outside the classroom.

    Success Center Student Advisement

    During this virtual 1:1 session, families will meet with a D'Youville University Financial Aid Counselor and be able to answer specific questions about the financial package from the University (20-minute appointments).

    This session is for students, but family members are welcome to join. Hear from our Health Compliance Office about what students need to do in order to ensure compliance with New York State and D'Youville as well as how to use our health compliance software.

Transfer Students

Each year transfer students come to D'Youville for a wide range of reasons. Whether you are a traditional undergrad or returning to school, we're here to ensure you are successful and that starts with Transfer Orientation.

At Transfer Orientation, you'll meet your fellow students, talk to alumni and current students, and explore all the resources at D'Youville designed to make your experience rewarding.

Parents & Family

Sending a family member to college is a big life event, and you probably have some questions. That's great, we'll have staff and current students ready to answer them. Though orientation is not mandatory for parents and guardians, we encourage all parents and families to look out for our virtual posts.

POST AND EVENT DATES
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

In the virtual posts, we'll be introducing you to all of the services and resources available to our students on campus. We will also be hosting a number of virtual events where you will be able to chat with the Dean, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts. Everything you need to know before move-in day will be covered in these posts and events.
