Position Summary:

The Office of Accessibility Resources is seeking organized, dependable, and empathetic Graduate Assistants who have experience working with individuals with disabilities or a strong interest in doing so. Graduate Assistants in our Testing Center play an essential role in supporting students and ensuring accommodations are implemented effectively. This position is ideal for graduate students who are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the confidential departmental email account
  • Manage semester testing schedules and assist with processing student accommodation requests

Graduate Assistant - Center for Doctoral Studies & Research Support

Job Description:

The CDSR Graduate Assistant assists with the organization and operation of the Center for 
Doctoral Studies and Research and those programs based within the CDSR. This includes 
management of current grant funding, meeting scheduling, inventory of student and faculty 
research interests, coordination of faculty development sessions, event planning, support 
of teaching faculty, departmental administrative support, literature review, prepping 
accreditation documentation, and exploration of grant funding opportunities. 

The candidate will be self-motivated and able to eƯectively budget time. They will ask 
questions to clarify responsibilities and will notify supervisor when tasks are complete and 
new tasks are needed.  

Responsibilities:

  • Be present on campus in the Center for Doctoral Studies and Research for at least 15 hours per week – preferably during regular business hours
  • Assist with inventorying current student and faculty research interests
  • Schedule and coordinate faculty development sessions related to identified needs
  • Asset map region around DYU and review data on key health needs and risks
  • Assist with newsletter editing and web site design
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of a research/scholarship event

Graduate Assistant - Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

Job Description:

This position requires an ability to engage in a variety of tasks in support of faculty activities 
in the PsyD Program. Required skills include ability to independently utilize standard 
research resources, such as PsychInfo, and other related databases, capacity to eƯectively 
proof-read faculty research proposals and submissions, assistance with maintenance and 
allocation of program assessment resources and instruments and ability to assist the 
Director of Clinical Training in assessing student competence to administer and score 
clinical assessment materials. Other duties, related to program operations, including

Graduate Assistant - Coordinator for Student Affairs

Position Summary:

This position is centered on providing varied administrative and organizational support to the Coordinator for Student Affairs as well as the Division of Student Affairs Offices including Housing, the Wellness Lodge, Veterans Services & Support, the Dean of Students’ Office, and the Student Government Association. The successful candidate will be highly adaptable, team-oriented, pay close attention to detail, highly organized, and thrive in a collaborative, dynamic work environment. The successful candidate will be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at D’Youville University. The candidate must maintain full-time graduate student status during the appointment and be in good standing within D’Youville University.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Coordinator of Student Affairs (SAC) in overseeing D’Youville students’ 
    health compliance statuses. This includes being knowledgeable of NYS immunization 
    requirements for college students, reviewing student health records, maintaining student 
    confidentiality and complying with HIPAA, answering students’ questions relating to health 
    compliance, and assisting the SAC in conducting a yearly audit of all enrolled students’ stored health records information.
  • Attend and actively participate in Student Affairs events that may include but are not limited to: Move-In Day, Orientation, Commencement, etc. which may include but is not limited to greeting guests or students, distributing promotional material, etc. Some events may fall outside normal business hours.
  • Co-manage the Saint Sitter student workers alongside the SAC and directly supervise the Saint Sitters in the absence of the SAC.
  • Train new Saint Sitters in all essential duties that relate to the care, maintenance, and treatment of the school mascots, Saint and Maggie. Perform administrative and organizational tasks as assigned by the professional and paraprofessional staff that make up the Student Affairs Division.
  • Meet regularly with the SAC.

Compensation:

The successful candidate will receive a $1,500 stipend per semester and three credit waiver at no cost.

Graduate Assistant - Cultural Enrichment Center Support

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at D’Youville University. The candidate must maintain full-time graduate student status during the appointment and be in good standing within D’Youville University. 

This 15 hour/week, 10-month position is centered on the development, planning, and execution of cultural and identity-based programming. The CEC Graduate Assistant will be instrumental in fostering a welcoming, educational, and celebratory environment for students of all backgrounds. This role will support key annual programs while encouraging peer engagement and collaborative initiatives that reflect the diversity and vibrancy of the D’Youville University community.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and administrative oversight for the Cultural Enrichment Center by 
    maintaining regular office hours
  • Hire, train, and supervise undergraduate FWS and SEP students for the Cultural Enrichment Center,
  • Plan, advertise, and host bi-weekly chill & chat events,
  • Plan, advertise, and host one ‘nacho average Tuesday’ each semester,
  • Work with the Director of the Student Experience on key programs between August and 
    April; including the Tea Party, First-Gen Day, the Multicultural Dinner, and Pride Week,
  • Collaborate with the BSU to host culturally significant events in the CEC,
  • Support the development of peer-led educational workshops on DEI topics,

Graduate Assistant - Pharmacy Instructional Assistant

The Pharmacy Instructional Assistant provides instructional, administrative, and technical support to the School of Pharmacy faculty and staff. Responsibilities include maintaining academic integrity during examinations, assisting with interprofessional education simulation activities, and supporting clinical service development. The role offers hands-on experience in both educational and clinical service operations, fostering the assistant’s academic and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

Instructional Support: 

  • Review online exam proctoring videos and monitor in-person exams to uphold academic integrity, reporting violations to faculty/administrators.
  • Provide technical and instructional support during Zoom-based interprofessional education (IPE) simulation activities, including managing breakout rooms and assisting facilitators.
  • Assist faculty with course-related activities, as needed.

Administrative Support: 

  • Preparing and organizing relevant documentation.
  • Conducting outreach to stakeholders, including healthcare providers and community 
    organizations.

Graduate Assistant - Physician Assistant Support

Position Summary:

A graduate assistant (GA) in the PA Department plays a role in promoting the mission of the department/office and university. Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the graduate assistant is responsible for assisting and completing activities related to program evaluation, program outcomes, and other ongoing projects. 
The student meets with the designated supervisor prior to appointment to develop a specific list of responsibilities and expectations for the academic year based on mutual areas of interest, expertise, and need. The graduate assistant works a flex-time schedule of at least 15-17 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters depending on the needs of the designated supervisor and the availability of the student. 
Overall, the student will assist in maintaining an organized workflow for the department/office and performing duties to assist with work operations as assigned by the supervisor or their designee. All students must understand the importance of and maintain confidentiality in daily work operations. This includes information protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations. Students will be expected to abide by all university policies and procedures. Students must be registered for classes and maintain their enrollment status to work in these positions. PA students are not eligible for a GA position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with basic office administration and other work as needed: this may include maintaining spreadsheets; preparing reports; coordinating/gathering data; filing, copying or scanning documents.

Graduate Assistant - Registrar Support

Position Summary: 
The graduate assistant will perform daily operational activities to include updating and maintaining yearly class schedules, data entry into colleague and directing students to the clearinghouse for enrollment verifications and transcript orders. The graduate assistant will gain knowledge of the academic catalog, course scheduling and the National Student Clearinghouse. 


Responsibilities:

Graduate Assistant - School of Nursing Support

Position Summary:

Provide assistance to the Undergraduate Associate Dean of the Patricia H. Garman School 
of Nursing. Assist with assessment of the program, helping gather statistical 
information. Assist with preparing documents needed for accreditation review. Assist with 
any administrative needs such as making a powerpoint for a presentation or excel 
file. Assist with exam proctoring for undergraduate nursing courses. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Review student records, gathering data needed for assessment

Graduate Assistant - Veterans Center Support

Position Summary:

The graduate assistant for the veteran and military aligned (VET/MAL) support team plays a critical role in enhancing the education experience for all VET/MAL students. This position will assist in providing services and support to make students education journey a success.

Responsibilities:

Graduate Assistant - Wellness Lodge Support

Position Summary:

The Wellness Lodge Graduate Assistantship is an opportunity for students pursuing a Graduate Level Degree to gain practical experience working within the Wellness Lodge. Students will have the opportunity to utilize creative problem solving, and the ability to refine their leadership skills. The candidate selected for this position will report to the campus Mental Health Counselor and Project Director for Wellness Education. The Wellness Lodge Graduate Assistant will also collaborate with our Campus Advocate and Peer Wellness Ambassadors, also located in the Wellness Lodge. 
The Wellness Lodge is D’Youville’s home to our campus mental health and wellness supports. The Wellness Lodge houses our mental health counselor who is available for inperson counseling and our PD for Wellness Ed overseeing our DOJ OVW grant. Both manage the Wellness Lodge supports and programming. The Wellness Lodge also houses our Campus Advocate and Peer Wellness Ambassador Program which are two DOJ grant initiatives. The Wellness Lodge also hosts a variety of wellness programming, including yoga, art, massage, mindfulness, meditation, therapy dogs, and other special events. All classes are free to students to participate. The Wellness Lodge is also where you can find the Wellness Vending machine and Campus Cupboard, a free pantry for all members of the D’Youville Community.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with regular Wellness Lodge programming; including promotion of events, participating in programs, checking students into events using Engage, evaluating and identifying ways to increase engagement, and assessment of programs.
  • Assist with management of Campus Cupboard
  • Assist with management of Wellness Vending machine
  • Assist with development and management of Wellness Lodge mentoring initiative and 
    grant initiatives
  • Assist in communicating and disseminating tasks or other pertinent information to 
    work- study (WS) students
  • Attend regular Wellness Lodge staff meetings
  • Assist with maintaining organization and tidiness of Wellness Lodge individual activity 
    station, tea station, and other shared spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned

  •  Maintain confidentiality and privacy of Wellness Lodge participants.
  • Treat all individuals in the Wellness Lodge with dignity and respect, understanding this is a 
    space on campus to be safe and healing.
  • Complete all administraƟve tasks in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner. This includes filing documents, monitoring work-study Ɵmesheets for accuracy, ensuring WS are performing their assigned duties, and other miscellaneous office duties.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and parents through effective correspondence and follow-through emails and phone calls.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive work environment.
  • Project a positive attitude towards the position, department, and institution

Conditions of Employment:

  • GA is required to be a full-time graduate student at DYU while occupying the position.
  • GA must be in good conduct standing with the University and not be on any probationary period through conduct sanctioning.
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.00. First semester graduate students must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organization skills, self-motivated with high 
    professional and ethical manners, interested and enthusiastic about wellness and 
    helping others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and support of all students.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, SharePoint; knowledge of webpage development is desirable.
