D’Youville University Trustee Joyce Markiewicz Named to City & State NY’s 2025 Upstate Power 100

Joyce Markiewicz, class of 1980 at D’Youville University and current member of the Board of Trustees, has been recognized as one of the Top 50 leaders on City & State NY’s 2025 Upstate Power 100 list, highlighting her exceptional leadership and lasting impact across New York’s upstate region.

Markiewicz, President and CEO of Catholic Health, was selected for this prestigious list of influential leaders from government, business, healthcare, academia, and civic sectors. The annual Upstate Power 100 celebrates individuals whose achievements and influence shape policy and progress throughout upstate New York.

A registered nurse and seasoned healthcare executive, Markiewicz assumed the role of President & CEO of Catholic Health in September 2023. Under her leadership, the health system has prioritized workforce development including awarding full scholarships for staff education and negotiated key agreements that support frontline caregivers. She also oversees major initiatives such as the development of Lockport Memorial Hospital and expanded patient care services.
