D’Youville University Faculty Achieve Record Scholarly Impact and Research Funding in 2024–25

D’Youville University is proud to announce a record-setting year in faculty scholarship and research funding for the 2024–25 academic year.
Faculty and staff across numerous disciplines and departments secured nearly $2.2 million in competitive grants and published upwards of 50 scholarly articles, book chapters, and creative works, furthering D’Youville’s reputation as a leader in innovation, research, and community-focused scholarship. A celebration of excellence to recognize these high achieving faculty and staff was held on the D’Youville’s Heritage Hall on the evening of April 23, 2025.

From groundbreaking healthcare studies and community health initiatives to cutting-edge research in data science and education, D’Youville faculty have significantly contributed to both academic and applied knowledge. Highlights include federally funded research in public health outreach, partnerships with local organizations to address food insecurity, and pioneering work in physical therapy and mental health.
“Our faculty continue to distinguish themselves through impactful research and a deep commitment to advancing knowledge that benefits both our students and the broader community,” said Dr. Fehmi Damkaci, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. “This year’s achievements reflect the extraordinary talent and dedication of our scholars and reaffirm D’Youville’s role as an institution where innovation meets service.”
In addition to grant funding from sources such as the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Education, and regional foundations, D’Youville faculty were invited to present their research at national and international conferences, underscoring the global relevance of their work.
