Interviews for D'Youville's Next President About to Begin

Buffalo, New York – August 24, 2016 – Candidates for the presidency of D’Youville College will be interviewed over the course of the next few weeks, as the Presidential Search Committee has narrowed its list of possible successors to Sister Denise A. Roche, who retired June 30.

“We have reached consensus on the individuals we will be meeting with,” said Melinda Disare, committee co-chair. “There is a strong feeling among the committee that we have identified high-quality candidates.”

In order to maintain confidentiality, the candidates will be interviewed in late August and September at undisclosed, off-campus locations.

Following the interviews, a smaller number of finalists will be invited to the D’Youville campus in the fall for another round of interviews and meetings with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the local community.

Initial screenings and lengthy conversations with applicants were conducted by Kim M. Morrisson, PhD, senior managing director of Diversified Search’s Education and Nonprofit Practice.

“This is a rigorous process,” said C.J. Urlaub, committee co-chair. “We are looking forward to meeting with the candidates, getting to know them better and seeing how they would achieve D'Youville's vision for the future.”

Urlaub said the goal remains to have D’Youville’s next president appointed in 2017.
