D'Youville University's D'Mensions Magazine Earns International CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Transformational Improvement
D'Youville University has received international recognition for excellence in higher education communications, earning a 2026 Circle of Excellence Gold Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in the Publications Improvement category for the remarkable transformation of its flagship alumni magazine, D'Mensions.
The annual CASE Circle of Excellence Awards recognize the most outstanding work in educational advancement, communications, marketing, alumni relations, and fundraising from colleges and universities around the world.
This 2026 award honors the dramatic evolution of D'Mensions into a publication that more effectively tells the story of today's D'Youville University through compelling storytelling, elevated design, stronger editorial strategy, and a renewed focus on the university's mission of preparing graduates to lead in healthy communities in Western New York and around the world.
Published three times annually, D'Mensions serves thousands of alumni, donors, and friends of the university by highlighting transformational student experiences, faculty scholarship, institutional milestones, and the impact of philanthropic support. Recent issues have featured D'Youville's health professions programs including the history of nursing at the university, community partnerships, alumni achievements, and the university's continued momentum as a national leader in health sciences education. The most recent issue featured 11 Ukrainian students who found refuge and success at D’Youville in the midst of the ongoing Russia-Ukrainian War. All 11 students graduated from D’Youville in May 2026.
The judges for the 2026 CASE Publications Improvement category noted, “…what a transformation! Much improved design, and judges especially liked how visuals assisted with storytelling and provided interest and relief from dense copy blocks. Additionally, [the D’Youville team] did an excellent job showing what makes D'Youville University special.”
“This recognition reflects much more than a redesigned magazine, it represents a renewed commitment to telling the D'Youville story in ways that inspire pride, deepen alumni engagement, and demonstrate the extraordinary impact our university is making every day,” said Britt Davis, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “Every issue celebrates the people who define D'Youville, our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends, and illustrates how their work is improving lives and strengthening communities. We are grateful that CASE has recognized the creativity, strategy, and collaboration behind this world class publication.”
CASE's Circle of Excellence Awards are among the most prestigious honors in educational advancement, recognizing institutions that demonstrate exceptional innovation, creativity, and measurable impact. The 2026 competition attracted thousands of submissions from hundreds of educational institutions representing more than 30 countries, with entries evaluated by peer professionals from across higher education.
The recognition highlights the collaborative efforts of D'Youville University's Office of Institutional Advancement, whose development, alumni, and communications and marketing, teams worked together to reimagine D'Mensions as a modern publication that reflects the university's growing regional and national profile.
