D’Youville University Celebrates Student Research Day with Impressive Poster Presentations in Health Sciences and Beyond

D’Youville University hosted its annual Student Research Day on April 24, 2025, showcasing the innovative work of students across multiple academic disciplines. The event featured dozens of research poster presentations, with a strong emphasis on projects developed in partnership with faculty mentors—especially in the health sciences and related professions.
Held in the university’s Health Profession’s Hub, the event highlighted D’Youville’s commitment to experiential learning and academic excellence. Students presented findings on a wide range of topics within physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, public health, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, and other fields integral to the health sciences. The collaborative nature of the event underscored the strong mentorship relationships between students and faculty.

“This event demonstrates the power of collaborative research and the impact it can have on student learning,” said Dr. Fehmi Damkaci, Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Our students are engaging in work that not only deepens their understanding of their disciplines but also contributes meaningfully to their fields of study. We are proud of their dedication and the support of our outstanding faculty.”
Student Research Day also provided a platform for students to refine their presentation skills, engage with peers and faculty in scholarly dialogue, and celebrate academic inquiry as a cornerstone of the D’Youville experience.
