Patricia Abbott, PhD

Biography

Dr. Abbott has been at D’Youville since 1992. Her training is in behavioral neuroscience and she has published research in the areas of reproductive and maternal behavior. She developed the psychology major here at D’Youville and continues to develop innovative curriculum and design professional development opportunities within the major. She has served as Psychology Program Director, chair of the department of Social Sciences, and associate dean of the school of Arts, Sciences, and Education. She has served in numerous leadership positions on campus, including chair of the Middle States Accreditation team, Vice President of Faculty Council and Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. She teaches psychology courses in the areas of biopsychology and personality.
