Biography

Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in pediatric, adolescent, and women’s healthcare including a subspecialty in women’s health and sexual assault management; advanced knowledge in physical assessment, ability to triage and prioritize care in an uncontrolled environment, and capable of managing complex clinical issues.  All areas of major and minor surgical procedures performed in the emergency department setting such as suturing, splinting, foreign body removal, bedside ultrasound, burn care, and more. Advanced theory and clinical training in the care and treatment of pediatric, adolescent, and adult sexual assault victims providing a liaison between the medical profession and criminal justice system. Expert in forensic evidence collection, criminal procedures, and legal testimony and serves as the primary pediatric sexual abuse resource for medical professionals in Western New York. Co-developed care paths and initiated research projects to better define care and guidelines for the sexual assault victim.  Professor for the past 8 years at DYU in the FNP program specializing in women's health and pediatrics. Course coordinator and mentor in all areas taught.
