D’Youville Commencement is May 19

Buffalo, New York – May 3, 2012 – D'Youville College will graduate approximately 750 students at the schools' 104th annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Kleinhans Music Hall beginning at 9:00 a.m.

An honorary degree will be conferred upon Donna M. Fernandes, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Buffalo Zoo, who will deliver the commencement address to the Class of 2012.

She came to the Buffalo Zoo in 2000 and has completed a new master plan, raised $35 million in capital funds and opened several new major exhibits.

Dr. Fernandes is also an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University at Buffalo and teaches part-time at Canisius College and the Harvard Business School Club of Buffalo.

She is a graduate of Brown University, completed her graduate studies at Princeton University and holds an MBA from the Simmons School.
