I am the Director of both Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) programs at D’Youville; the Medaille University at D’Youville Teach Out and the DYU PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology. I joined the D’Youville faculty in 2023, following the closure of Medaille University.
I received my BA and Ph.D. at St. John’s University, in New York. After completing my Ph.D., I undertook a 4-year, NIMH-supported postdoctoral fellowship at New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Medical Center, specializing in adolescent suicide prevention.
I have served as a faculty member in a number of institutions, and have held various positions, including core faculty member, Director of Clinical Training and Program Director, and have taught a variety of undergraduate, masters and doctoral-level coursework in psychopathology, psychotherapy, assessment and supervision. In addition, I have conducted research in suicide prevention, treatment of anxiety and mood disorders and countering health-related misinformation.
My clinical experience is extensive. I am Board Certified in Clinical Psychology (ABPP), hold licensure in multiple states and have served as a Master Clinician at the American Institute of Cognitive Therapy. In addition to serving as Chair of the Research and Evaluation Committee of the National Council of Schools and Programs in Professional Psychology (NCSPP), I am also President-Elect of the Academic Division of the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) and serve as NYSPA President-Elect.
In addition to my teaching, I enjoy engaging students in research, and have chaired nearly 50 doctoral dissertations during my career.
