  • Official High School Transcripts: An overall weighted GPA of 80 or higher, with successful completion of high school graduation requirements, including three years each of mathematics, history, English, and science.

Transfer Students

  • Minimum GPA Requirement: A cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam Preparation

The Accounting (BS) program at D’Youville University is designed to provide a strong academic foundation that supports preparation to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, in accordance with applicable educational requirements. Through coursework in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and cost accounting, students develop the technical knowledge and analytical skills expected of CPA candidates.

Faculty members—many of whom are CPAs—integrate professional standards, ethical considerations, and real-world applications throughout the curriculum to help students understand the expectations of the accounting profession. Graduates are well prepared to pursue CPA licensure and may choose to continue their education through graduate study, such as an MBA or other advanced accounting-related programs, to meet additional licensure requirements.

CPA licensure requirements vary by state. Students are encouraged to consult the appropriate state board of accountancy for specific eligibility criteria.

As standard practice across all degree programs, D’Youville University is a test-optional institution, which doesn’t require SAT/ACT, or graduate entrance exams. We won’t ask you for letters of recommendation, and official transcripts aren’t necessary to be admitted. Just focus on your life transition and provide verification of your official transcripts sometime after you choose DYU is right for you, but before your first day of classes.
