Academic & Instructional Support

Graduate Assistant - Clinical Psychology (PsyD) Support

Clinical Psychology (PsyD)

Job Description:

This position requires an ability to engage in a variety of tasks in support of faculty activities 
in the PsyD Program. Required skills include ability to independently utilize standard 
research resources, such as PsychInfo, and other related databases, capacity to eƯectively 
proof-read faculty research proposals and submissions, assistance with maintenance and 
allocation of program assessment resources and instruments and ability to assist the 
Director of Clinical Training in assessing student competence to administer and score 
clinical assessment materials. Other duties, related to program operations, including 
copying, distribution of written materials and assistance with clerical tasks are also 
included. The candidate is expected to be available at least two (2) non-class days per 
work week. Hours to be arranged with Program Director, in consultation with program 
faculty. 

Compensation & Commitment:

  • $1,500 stipend and 3 credit tuition waiver per semester.

Graduate Assistant - IPE Simulation Actor

Department:

Dramatic Arts / Simulation

Position Summary:

The IPE Simulation Actor supports the university's Interprofessional Education simulations by portraying simulated patient and standardized patient roles in healthcare scenarios. GA simulation actors will help create realistic, educational experiences for D'Youville health profession students by consistently and accurately portraying patients, family members, and health professionals. This role contributes to student learning, clinical readiness, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately portray standardized and simulated patient/professional roles in IPE simulation activities across multiple healthcare disciplines.
  • Memorize and consistently perform scripted cases, including patient history, symptoms, emotional affect, and behavioral responses.
  • Provide objective verbal and/or written feedback to facilitators and learners.
  • Collaborate with simulation faculty, staff, and facilitators during scenario preparation, execution, and debriefing.
  • Attend required training sessions, rehearsals, and debriefings.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of simulation content, student performance, and program materials.

Compensation & Commitment:

  • $1,500 stipend and 3 credit tuition waiver per semester.

  • Hours scheduled based on simulation needs; may include daytime, evening, and/or occasional weekend sessions.

Graduate Assistant - Nutrition & Dietetics Support

Position Summary:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the academic, research, and administrative 
functions of the Nutrition and Dietetics Program. The time commitment for this position is 15 hours/week. On occasion, weekend hours may be required. 

Responsibilities:

  • Program promotion by methods such as: creating and monitoring and responding to 
    social media posts, contacting potential students from college-generated 
    lists, assisting in on-campus activities for new and potential students at admissions 
    events, create (virtual/video or face-to-face) engaging presentations to present to 
    potential students and families
  • Assist faculty with course preparation (could include grading and classroom support).
  • Participating in new and/or ongoing research projects which may include data 
    collection and analysis and assisting in manuscript preparation
  • Maintain and update program materials, including syllabi, handouts, and digital 
    content
  • Assist in managing social media and communication eƯorts for the program
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects as defined by faculty and program director
  • Perform other duties as assigned by program director or faculty

Qualifications & Expectations:

  • Graduate student in good standing
  • Registered for a minimum of 6 graduate credits
  • Strong academic background in nutrition science and dietetics principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft OƯice Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Graduate Assistant - Pathways Learning Community Assistant

Applicant Criteria:

  • Graduate or doctoral student in good standing.
  • Registration for a minimum of 6 graduate or doctoral credits. (Note: exceptions may be made for students in the thesis or dissertation phase of their program. International students, however, must be registered for at least 6 credits).
  • Meet the qualifications outlined in the position description for the GA position sought.  

Position Summary:

This position will mainly serve as a support to the Program Director of the Pathways Learning Community Program. The individual will be expected to assist in a variety of ways and will need to be flexible as the program.  This individual will need to be comfortable working with 1st generation college students who are also English Language Learners. The presence of a Graduate Assistant will help ensure that the students enrolled in the Pathways Learning Community have the level of intensive wrap-around support that they need to succeed in a college environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Program Director with a variety of tasks such as following up with professors regarding student issues, scheduling faculty meetings, assisting with tasks like purchasing and distributing bus passes, monitoring daily student attendance, planning virtual recruitment, and helping to carry-out virtual recruitment 
  • Assist Learning Assistants with academic tutoring 
  • Work with students on completing necessary forms 
  • Help with unforeseen tasks that arise throughout the semester 
  • Assist with events
  • Have a physical presence at SASE for student walk ins

Graduate Assistant - Pharmacy Instructional Assistant

Position Summary :

The Pharmacy Instructional Assistant provides instructional, administrative, and technical support to the School of Pharmacy faculty and staff. Responsibilities include maintaining academic integrity during examinations, assisting with interprofessional education simulation activities, and supporting clinical service development. The role offers hands-on experience in both educational and clinical service operations, fostering the assistant’s academic and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

Instructional Support: 

  • Review online exam proctoring videos and monitor in-person exams to uphold academic integrity, reporting violations to faculty/administrators.
  • Provide technical and instructional support during Zoom-based interprofessional education (IPE) simulation activities, including managing breakout rooms and assisting facilitators.
  • Assist faculty with course-related activities, as needed.

Administrative Support: 

  • Preparing and organizing relevant documentation.
  • Conducting outreach to stakeholders, including healthcare providers and community 
    organizations.
  • Researching best practices and models from similar programs or institutions.
  • Assisting in planning and executing events or initiatives related to program goals and 
    education. 

General Support: 

  • Participate in meetings with faculty and staƯ to provide input and updates on assigned 
    tasks.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned to support the School of Pharmacy’s 
    initiatives.  

Qualifications & Expectations:

  •  Possess a high degree of professionalism, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of pharmacy educational principle and clinical practice topic/concepts
  • Understanding of examination protocols and academic integrity standards
  • Familiarity with interprofessional education principles and simulation activities

Graduate Assistant - School of Health Professions Support

Applicant Criteria:

  • Graduate or doctoral student in good standing.
  • Completion of six or more graduate credits with a grade of B or better.
  • Registration for a minimum of 6 graduate or doctoral credits. (Note: exceptions may be made for students in the thesis or dissertation phase of their program. International students, however, must be registered for at least 6 credits).
  • Meet the qualifications outlined in the position description for the GA position sought.  

Responsibilities:

  • Program promotion by methods such as: creating and monitoring and responding to social media posts, contacting potential students from college-generated listed, assisting on-campus activities for new and potential students at admissions events, create (virtual/video/face-to-face) engaging presentations to present to potential students and families, create SHP newsletter(s).
  • Curriculum Management: by entering curriculum data to “Course leaf” program.
  • Accreditation & Program support to programs in SHP seeking new or re-accreditation, revising existing programs, adding new programs, and/or completing related reports (eg: annual reports, self-studies, applications).
  • Faculty Research: participating in new and/or ongoing research projects which may include data collection and analysis and assisting in manuscript preparation.
  • Quality Improvement: completing quality improvement projects as defined by dean, faculty and/or program directors.
  • Serve on Dean’s Student Council (if currently a student in a SHP program) & assist with meetings/event coordination, communication, and planning.
  • Support & assist the dean/interim dean, associate dean, and each program in SHP with other projects, events, meetings, and tasks (eg: transport laundry between labs & mailroom, assist with conferences held at D'Youville) as needed.
  • Simulation/Interprofessional Education support and related tasks (eg: scheduling, email reminders, training, recording, technology, setup).
  • On occasion, weekend hours will be required.
