D'Youville University has been named a 2026–2027 Military Friendly® School, earning a Top 10 national ranking (#9) as well as a #8 national ranking as a Military Spouse Friendly® School. Both distinctions place D’Youville among the top private institutions in the country offering doctoral degrees and reflect a strong commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and military-connected families.

At D’Youville, that commitment is reflected in a comprehensive support system designed specifically for military-connected students. The university’s Veterans Services Office, staffed by veterans, provides personalized guidance through the admissions and enrollment process, helping students maximize benefits such as the GI Bill®, Yellow Ribbon Program, and D’Youville-specific grants. Students also benefit from flexible academic advising, tutoring support, and career-focused programs that prepare them for success during and after their time on campus.

“Being recognized as a top Military Friendly® institution is a reflection of our deep commitment to those who have served,” said Dr. Lorrie Clemo, president of D’Youville University. “We are proud to provide an environment where veterans and military-connected students are supported at every step, from navigating benefits to building meaningful, successful careers.”

“I am proud that our university continues to be recognized as a Military Friendly® School,” said Phillip Pandy, Director of Veteran Student Support and Recruitment. “This year’s rise in the rankings reflects not only our commitment to veteran and military-connected students, but the intentional work to continuously strengthen the support and opportunities we provide.”

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Schools designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses to a comprehensive survey. More than 3,200 organizations participated in this year’s assessment, with final rankings based on key measures including student recruitment, retention, graduation rates, career outcomes, and the range of support services available to military-connected students.

“Earning the Military Friendly® designation is more than a badge of honor; it is a reflection of an institution’s deep-rooted values and strategic commitment to those who served,” said Kayla Lopez, Vice President of Memberships, Military Friendly®. “These schools don’t just open doors for veterans and military spouses, they build sustainable pathways for academic success and long-term impact. Their support is transformative, proving that investing in military-connected students is both a moral imperative and a standard for educational excellence.”

D’Youville will be featured in the 2026–2027 Guide to Military Friendly® Schools in the April issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
