Biography

As a veteran nurse educator, I am dedicated to mentoring students as they transition into novice nursing professionals. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a mutually respectful, trusting, and safe learning environment that values students’ experiences, knowledge, and passion for learning while integrating current evidence-based practice into nursing education.

My primary area of focus is simulation-based learning, serving as a simulation facilitator for both the School of Nursing and Interprofessional Education (IPE) programs. Through innovative simulation experiences, I help students develop clinical judgment, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills essential for safe and effective patient care.

In addition to my teaching and simulation leadership roles, I actively contribute to academic excellence and program development through service on numerous committees. These include the Faculty Committee, Undergraduate Faculty Committee, Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Nursing Appeals Committee, Simulation and Practice Center Committee, CCNE Standards Committee, IPE Simulation Committee, and the University AI Committee. Through these roles, I support curriculum innovation, accreditation efforts, student success, interprofessional collaboration, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies into higher education.

My dedication to nursing education is grounded in fostering lifelong learning, professional growth, and excellence in patient-centered care.
